Sunshine & Rosé June Issue - Mint to Table

By mid-June, everything outside starts looking like someone dialed the saturation up half a click — butter-yellow ranunculus spilling out of garden beds, peonies in full bloom and pink on the kitchen counter, rosé condensing in a silver bucket at someone’s table. The light is different. The food lightens. The conversations get longer. And the right table, the right drink, the right flowers become less about effort and more about just… not getting in the way.

That’s the whole mood of this month’s issue.

Mint to Table is our monthly digital guide for people who want to host like we host — considered, calm, very little chaos — without needing an event planner to text. The June issue, Sunshine & Rosé, is our summer opener. Here’s a first look at what’s inside.

What’s inside the June issue

A quick walk through the table of contents, in the order you’d read it:

  • The Tablescape — shades of yellow and pink to brighten up the space.

  • The Pour — rosés we’re drinking all summer, and what to serve them with.

  • The Florals — a grocery-store DIY that photographs like a florist built it.

  • The Timeline — how to set the whole the space.

  • The Menu - Full meal plans, with recipes and shopping list included.

We’ll preview the first three below. The rest is inside the download.

1. The Tablescape: pink and yellow, with restraint.

Our rule this June:

  • Yellow does the lifting — linen runner, candle tapers, one ceramic serving piece.

  • Pink is the accent — napkin rim, one flower variety, maybe the drink.

  • Everything else is white, linen, or warm wood. Negative space is the third color, and it’s doing more work than you think.

Inside the issue, you will find full table inspo, along with music, linen, place settings and more.

2. The Pour: rosé that earns its place.

Rosé has a reputation for being the summer default. The June issue is a small act of defense because the right rosé, served cold, with the right plate, is still one of the most generous things you can put on a summer table.

Three we’re recommending this month:

  • A Provençal classic. Pale, dry, goes with everything. This is your table pour for eight.

  • A Spanish rosado. Deeper pink, a whisper of strawberry, absolutely the bottle for dinner when it cools off past 8pm.

  • An American coastal. Lightly sparkling. Serve this one first, before guests have decided what they want. It sets the tone.

Each gets a pairing inside the issue: the plate that works, the cheese that doesn’t, and the wrong-answer food pairing we see people make every summer. (We named names.)

3. The Florals: one stop, ten minutes, real pretty.

We don’t subscribe to the idea that good florals require a florist. We subscribe to the idea that most people buy the wrong things and then arrange them in the wrong vessel.

June’s DIY floral arrangement is built for one grocery-store run and one ten-minute counter moment. It goes like this:

  • One bunch of supermarket ranunculus in yellow — the closer to butter than mustard, the better.

  • One bunch of peonies or garden roses in pale pink, whichever is in season where you are.

  • Stems cut at a 45° angle, about three inches off the bottom. Shorter than you think.

  • Three small ceramic bud vases, any mismatched neutrals, spaced evenly apart down the center of the table.

That’s the whole technique. Ten minutes of trimming. Photographs like someone thought about it for a week.

A word on this whole project.
